The WSI Non-Contact Micro Cleaner effectively removes particles as small as 20 microns. Its unique ultrasonic nozzle superimposes high frequency (100 kHz plus) pulses over a high-pressure air flow. This pulsation breaks up the boundary layer formed on a moving web and removes the smaller trapped particles. Unlike contact cleaners, there are no brushes to load up with particles and re-deposit on the web and there is no scratching or scuffing of the substrate. Mounting the Micro Cleaner head above a back-up roll maintains a consistent substrate gap. This eliminates the possibility of web flutter and insures repeatable cleaning results.
